Religious Education Program 2019/2020

St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church of Pascoag, and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Harrisville have combined their Religious Education program.
Volunteer parishioners, who live according to the precepts of the Catholic Church, teach Religious Education classes for our parish children grades 1-10. Classes begin on September 18, 2019, through April 29, 2020.
Classes are held every Wednesday evening at St. Patrick’s Church Hall unless noted on the Religious Ed. calendar. Students in grades 1, 3-6, will have class from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Students in grades 2 will meet at an extended new time from 6:00 p.m to 7:15 p.m. Students in grades 7 and 8 will meet from 7-8 p.m. Students in grade 9 and 10 will have class from 7-8:15 p.m. Classes will begin promptly at their starting time and end at the appropriate time. There will be no classes during school vacations and inclement weather pending school cancellations. Parent participation helps strengthen the faith life of the child and the entire family. (Please refer to the calendar for the schedule during holiday weeks.)
Classes should not be interrupted unless there is an emergency. Parents wishing to speak with a teacher should schedule an appointment with them directly or through either Rectory Office.
If your child has a learning disability, food allergy or other pertinent information that the Teacher and Pastor should be aware of please contact the rectory. If your child will be absent due to an illness or an emergency please notify either rectory by phone or email as soon as able.
Discipline problems will be referred to the Parents and Fr. Scott Carpentier, Pastor.
All registered students must attend weekly Sunday Mass and Holy Days of Obligation. This will help strengthen your child’s faith and deepen their spirituality.
Holy Days of Obligation for 2019-2020:
- Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God – January 1st.
- Ascension Thursday – May 30th.
- Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary – August 15th
- All Saints Day – November 1st
- Immaculate Conception – December 8th
- Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord – December 25th
Cancellations:
In the event of inclement weather WJAR 10 or www.turnto10.com and WPRO 630 AM will broadcast cancellations. If the Superintendent of the Burrillville School Dept. cancels school, there will be no Religious Education classes. Make up classes due to snow cancellation will be announced.
